Meet the designer

” My name is Donna Avallone. I'm a professional landscape designer with a passion for climate-adaptive, native, medicinal, edible, and beautiful planting design. ADD MORE/BULLETPOINTS? In 2021, I completed my Permaculture Certification and began work in the aesthetic garden world as a landscaper and nuserywoman. In 2022, I started my own design studio, where I merge the principals I learned in permaculture with every breath-taking garden I create."

MEET THE TEAM

Native Plants

If the site has factors that make it more resilient to our warming climate, like a protective tree canopy, or a North-facing aspect, I aim for my plantings to consist of <30% Willamette Valley Natives. Otherwise, that <30% will encompass plants native to hotter and dryer parts of Oregon, Washington and Northern California.

Edible and Medicinal Plants

Plants should serve multiple functions. Native pollinator attractors are high on that list, thereby supporting the vast food web that is the foundation of the health of our entire bioregion. But supporting our own health via food and medicine is also a priority, saving you trips to the pharmacy or grocery store and providing you with high-nutrient, hyper localized plant medicine.

Drought-Tolerant Plants

I don't believe that burying plastic in the ground is an acceptable practice. Therefore none of my gardens include irrigation. I will only include plants with higher H2O needs if you agree to the higher level of care required to maintain said plant(s) health.
